Volunteer Terms

After you apply, we will discuss a role with you based on your preferences and experience. Your place is confirmed when we send it to you by email. We may not be able to accept every application.

• Please attend the online briefing, or watch the recording afterwards.
• On the day, please arrive on time and follow the instructions of your role lead and the organisers.

• Do not share scores, tallies, rankings or any other results before they are announced.
• Do not use or disclose personal information you learn in your role, such as names or contact details of competitors and visitors, for anything other than running the event.
• Do not give individual competitors special treatment or do anything that could affect judging.

Volunteers are photographed and filmed as part of the event record. See “Photography and Image Use” for details. In some roles you may be asked not to take photographs or post on social media.

• Setting up and clearing the venue can involve carrying heavy items. Do not overexert yourself, and tell your role lead if you feel unwell.
• Except where caused by the organiser’s wilful misconduct or gross negligence, the organiser is not liable for injury, accidents or theft at the venue. Please look after your own valuables.

• If you can no longer take part, please tell us through the contact form as soon as you know.
• We may withdraw your place if you act against these terms or the organisers’ instructions.
• Personal information you give us is handled in line with the privacy policy.
