FOR JUDGES
Judge Guidelines
Your scores shape a competitor's year. Judge every entrant by the same standard, fairly, in a way you could explain in words.
1. Principles
- Judge everyone by the same standard, regardless of country, school or fame
- Score only what you see; leave reputation and hearsay outside
- When in doubt, ask the head judge. Do not change the standard on your own
2. Conflicts of interest and confidentiality
- Declare in advance any division where your students, staff or family compete
- Keep scores, rankings and other judges' views confidential until results are announced
- Do not accept private consultations or gifts from competitors
3. How to score
- Score each criterion according to the division standard (see Rules & Criteria)
- Look separately at technique, flow, safety, care for the client and the finished result
- When you give an extreme score (top or bottom), note the reason in one line
4. On the day
- Arrive at the judges' room at call time and join the head judge's briefing
- Follow the timekeeper's signals for the start and end of each session
- Hand in score sheets right after each session; corrections go through the head judge
5. Dress and conduct
- Wear the designated judge attire or neat clothing; avoid strong fragrances
- No chatting, photography or phone use while judging
- Treat competitors, audience and staff with respect
6. Your profile and photograph
- Your name, title, career, photograph and other details are published on the official website's Judges page, Seminars calendar and similar pages after review by the organizers, based on the consent you give at registration.
- After publication you can edit your profile at any time from My page. Changes take effect immediately, and the organizers check them from time to time.
- To hide any item, take your page down or have your data deleted, please contact the organizers (we hide pages within 3 business days and delete data within 14 days). After the championship, you remain listed as a past judge until you ask us to take your page down.
- The championship is photographed and streamed as a record of the event (see "Photography and Image Use"). You consent at registration to being photographed and to the use of your image as a judge.
